Azerbaijani wine is produced in several regions throughout Azerbaijan. Prior to 20th-century communist rule, Azerbaijan had a thriving wine industry that dated back to the second millennium BC.

Azerbaijan wine production history was rediscovered at archaeological digs of settlements in Kultapa, Qarabaglar, and Galajig where archaeologists discovered stone fermentation and storage vessels that included residue and grape seeds dating back to the second millennium BC. The Ancient Greeks were well aware of wine production in the area by at least the 7th century BC according to Herodotus. Later Strabo would comment in the 1st century BC about an Azerbaijani wine known as Albania.
Azerbaijan is one of the main wine producers in the Caspian Sea region. Currently, there are nearly 10 wineries and vineyards producing wine in the country.

This tour will let you discover the taste of Azerbaijan wine and dive deep into the winemaking process with us. The tour will introduce you to the unique characteristics of Azerbaijani grapes while exploring the wine factory that uses unique technologies to present the international world red and white wines of Azerbaijan.

The itinerary of the tour:

• Pick up from the hotel and head to the vineyard located in Shamakhi
• Visit the grape garden & storage with the accompany of a sommelier
• Walking at the wine factory with the accompanied of sommelier

After finishing the tour, we will head to the tasting hall to have a seat at the wine table prepared for you with different samples of wines. To make the experience more enjoyable, you will also be provided with different snacks. After spending time with hospitable staff around the wine table you will have an opportunity to purchase Azerbaijan wines for factory prices! After saying goodbye to the warm atmosphere we will head back to the city and the tour will end up in the starting location.
